CCMAR biobank participated in the Ciência 2024 Summit at Porto, which occurred from 3 to 5 of July.
This meeting is the biggest science and innovation event in Portugal and this year brought scientists to discuss the theme “Science for health and global well-being”. The Portuguese Blue Biobank had its own thematic session entitled: “Portuguese Blue Biobank and the conservation and sustainable exploration of the ocean”.
Our researcher Cicero Alves-Lima had the opportunity to present the structure of the CCMAR biobank, its updates and services. It was the first public exhibition of our project where scientists of other biobanks and research areas could manifest their impressions and suggestions. Questions like biotechnological applications, invasive exotic species and details of the data bank were discussed.
It was also a great opportunity to interact with other members and coordinators of the Portuguese Blue Biobank.
