On the 19th and 22nd of November, the CCMAR Biobank marked its presence at the 4th edition of the Marine Sciences Fair, which took place at the “Centro de Ciência Viva do Algarve”.
During these days, students from the 1st to 3rd grade of several Algarve schools got the opportunity to learn and participate in some activities carried out by the CCMAR Biobank. This scientific dissemination activity reached 150 students, who learned about the vast amount of macroalgae species present in our oceans and the importance of preserving them in a biobank. Interactively, they have also learned how to identify the different stages of the macroalgae life cycle and how to isolate their associated microbiome.
